Caravan Insurance

As the name of the insurance indicates, caravan insurance refers to cover for caravans, trailers and motorhomes. Most short-term insurers that offer car insurance will offer caravan insurance as well. Caravan insurance policies cover the vehicle for similar perils as that of car insurance, such as third-party, fire, theft and accidental damage. Most caravan insurance policies include cover for the possessions inside the caravan and may include medical cover for damages caused to any persons while inside.

The amount of cover an insured will get on his or her caravan insurance policy depends on the insurer. For more comprehensive caravan cover (for those insureds who use their mobile homes frequently), specialist caravan insurers exist.

NOTE: Caravans are not covered for improper use; that is, use outside of caravanning. Awnings and external fittings are also not usually covered.
