Discovery Insurance launch Blackberry insurance claim app

Using your phone to get insurance quotes from insurance providers is nothing new, but using an insurance app to submit a claim is. Discovery Insure has launched a new Blackberry app which allows users to do just that. The product, launched in December last year, has already been downloaded 1 300 times, and is available to all policyholders with Blackberry OS5 and higher. An iPhone app is in the works, as is an Android app.

The application was developed to streamline and speed up the claims process by giving users a platform through which to provide Discovery with all the necessary details of a claim. The purpose of the app is to improve the turnaround time for claims and get users back on the road, or replace their vehicle.

The app allows users to submit details of a claim at the scene of an accident and eliminate the chances of insureds forgetting. It also allows policyholders to submit the contact details of the other party, take photos, get license plate numbers and more. It also comes with an emergency key for help.
