The Importance of insurance - 02 Jun 2009 09:39
As soon as man starts earning and saving, the first thing on his mind is to secure himself, his family, wealth, assets and his future. But with maturity also comes the judging ability which forces us to have preconceived notions about something that we do not even know about. So is the case when a person decides to get an insurance or shell out money every month for some policy.
Most of the people consider insurance companies as big fraud spewing machines cheating people out of their money only, in a legal way especially the life and home insurances. Subscribing to insurance policies involves risk, so does everything else we do. Imagine your house perished in a fire and it comes down to ashes, or a road accident that might prove life threatening or may force you to spend the rest of your life in the hospital. Who will be responsible for it? How will you recover the losses? Since most of us do not imagine that such things can actually happen, we live a life of complacency and smugness overlooking the raw reality surrounding us.
If you open your eyes and look around, there are many people who have subscribed to different types of policies at one time. It is hard to go without a life insurance or house insurance, leaving your loved ones in shambles of debt and financial problems, car insurance is compulsory in most of the countries so you can't escape that. It is hard for most of the people to digest that they have to fork out money every month to run their insurance policies, but the fact remains it is imperative. The only thing that needs to be taken into account is choosing the right kind of policy. Because after so much hassle you could find out that your policy does not cover certain things which could leave you at a certain loss.
