Mobile Car Inspection: Insurers do well to follow suit - 24 Oct 2009 15:17

Taking out insurance over the phone or via the internet makes comparing insurance companies and policies undeniably convenient. This convenience, however, is hindered by the hassle of having to get the car inspected before the policy comes into effect.

After you have negotiated with you insurer over the phone to come to terms that you agree with, your insurer will tell you where to go to get the car inspected. The inspection protects you and the insurance company by verifying the information you provided over the phone. If it turns out later that your stolen car was not fitted with a tracker as you said it was, then your insurer will repudiate the claim. The inspection also notes any damage to the car before the policy comes into effect, so policyholders don’t claim for these later.

The hassle of having to get you car inspected adds more grudge than is necessary to the already begrudging purchase. A recent survey by Asset Management Solutions (AMS) shows that clever insurers do well to reduce this hassle.

According to the survey 90 percent of consumers feel that being offered a mobile inspection service shows that the insurer is more user friendly and accessible to clients. A huge 87 percent of those surveyed had a positive experience with the mobile car inspection service and recommended it to others.

Insurers do well to make use of AMS’ mobile car inspection services to make motor insurance even more convenient for the consumer and earn themselves more positive mention.
